What is parenthetic citation?
Parenthetic citation is when you indicate your source in the body of your paper using parentheses. Both the MLA and APA use parenthetic citation and have specific rules for how to format these citations. Parenthetic citation replaces the old system of using footnotes to indicate citation information.
